The Oscar of Leonardo DiCaprio Can Be Taken Away Because Of The Finger

It’s official – Leonardo DiCaprio has an Oscar for Best Actor in his hands for His Unforgettable Role in The Revenant!

After being nominated for six Oscars over his long, successful career, the actor picked up his first award from the Academy Sunday night for his role as Hugh Glass in The Revenant.

And now the controversial part – for the first time in history the Oscar may be taken away from the winner because of intentional insult of the Academy as institution. The misplaced middle finger of Leo can be considered as such and his long waited award can be taken away if Academy members decide it was and intentional act of the actor. Of course we wish him all the best and we believe that Academy will not consider such small detail to be a reason for such penalty. They know they have some fault for Leo’s mixed feelings towards them 🙂

After long and strong standing ovation, he said: “Thank you all so very much. Thank you to the Academy, thank you to all of you in this room, to my parents, none of this would be possible without you. My friends, I love you dearly. You know who you are.”

He spoke also about the climate changes and inspired people to think about the importance of taking notice at the world around us.

“Climate change is real. It is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating. We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters, the big corporations, but who speak for all of humanity, for the indigenous people of the world,” he pleaded. “For the billions and billions of underprivileged people who will be most affected by this. For our children’s children and for those people out there whose voices have been drowned out by the politics of greed.”

He finished with: “Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted.”

An here comes the acceptance of the award and his speech:

Congratulations to one of the best actors of our era!
